To help you prepare to see shows at OSF, we are providing this page of detailed content that may be upsetting to some viewers.

Please note that how sensitive content is treated can change during rehearsals. We will update these content warnings to reflect these changes throughout the season, so please check back on this page before you arrive to see the production.

SPOILER ALERT! These content warnings contain details that may give away key plot points in the play.

Julius Caesar
Julius Caesar contains stabbing, crowd brutality, and allusions to fascism. There are also “Roman” suicides, considered honorable in ancient times after committing a devastating mistake. This production contains some light effects which may not be suitable for people with photosensitivity.
The Importance of Being Earnest 
The Importance of Being Earnest contains alcohol consumption.
Jitney
The play contains profanity; the “n-word” used familiarly by Black characters to one another; alcohol use; sexual innuendo; conversation about rape, murder, references to PTSD; physical violence and the appearance of a gun.
Shane
Shane contains physical violence that may be extreme. Characters use guns and knives as weapons of attack and defense.
Fat Ham 
Fat Ham contains strong profanity and candid sexual content including a discussion of oral sex and sounds of pornography from a phone. The “n-word” is spoken by characters of color. Physical violence and alcohol use are depicted, as are references to drug use. There is language that may be considered culturally derogatory, fatphobic, and homophobic. Theatrical smoke/haze and strobe effects are used in this production.
As You Like It

Quixote Nuevo 
Quixote Nuevo contains characters being detained by a border patrol officer, killing sheep, and spanking one another.
The Merry Wives of Windsor 
The play contains humor about adultery, sexual innuendo and slapstick comedy which includes occasional hitting and slapping.
Into the Woods
In classic fairy-tale style, there is blood, acts of murder, child neglect, manslaughter, amputation, stealing, and poking out of eyes. Into the Woods also contains themes of infertility and adultery.
