Susan Hearn
Susan Hearn is a fourth-generation Oregonian who has lived in Ashland with her husband, Chris, since 1992—drawn to the region’s vibrant natural beauty and rich cultural life. Over the past 33 years in Southern Oregon, Susan has led two nonprofit organizations— Southern Oregon Friends of Hospice in Medford and Friends of Hopewell House in Portland—raising a combined $14 million and establishing two residential hospice facilities.

She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon and a graduate degree in management from Southern Oregon University. Her leadership, marketing, and community education work has supported organizations such as La Clinica, Asante, and Ashland Community Hospital. 

Together, Susan and Chris raised three wonderful children in Ashland, dedicating significant volunteer time to local schools, city government, and economic development initiatives. A devoted grandmother and enthusiastic traveler, Susan also enjoys cooking, music, theater, hiking, and spending time at the family’s cabin on Odell Lake. She continues to serve her community as an active Rotarian, youth exchange officer, and nonprofit board member.
